Betty,

Mary Tattershall was the first wife of James Tant. His second wife was
Mary Heard who survived him and married second, Robert Ford, Jr.

Will of James Gant (should be TANT), Brittain's Bay, SMC,
5/10/1717-8/4/1717. Son: John and heirs, 100 ac. on southeast side of
Brittain's Bay near William Davis' house and personalty at the age of 21.
Son: Matthew and heirs, 100 ac. "Drydocking" in the forest of Brittain's
Bay, at head of St. Lawrence River and pesonalty at the age of 21.
Daughters: Anne, Elizabeth, and Mary, personalty at the age of 20 or
marriage. Wife: Mary, dwelling plantation being part of "Revell", during
her life and then to son Matthew. Wife: Residuary Legatee. No Exec.
named. Wit: Nicholas Mills, John Medley, Thomas Walker, Henry Spink.
(Maryland Calendar of Wills).

12/10/1729: Deed from Simon Reeder of CC, planter to Joseph Chambers of CC,
Gent., pt. of land originally given by grant to William Tattershall who left
the land to his brother, James Tant, 200 ac. Reeder agrees to warrant the
land against any claims made by Mr. John Courts that this land is pt. of
"Marten's Freehold", the property of the afsd. Courts. (CC Liber M, #2).

10/5/1741: From William Williams and his wife Ann (heir at law of James
Tant, dec'd of SMC, brother-in-law to Lawrence Tattershall, dec'd) and John
Reeder, son of Benjamin Reeder (dec'd) to Francis Ware of Port Tobacco,
planter for 4000 lbs. tobacco and 5 lbs. paper currency and 1 guinea
"Tattershall's Gift" in CC, laid out for about 400 ac. (CC Land Rec.).
