Good Morning,

I have not had a chance to keep up with all the emails but I will continue
helping when I can.

Jerry, or anyone on the list, I have a problem with Anna Howard being the
mother of Cecily??.

The Lyon Book, Now and Then, Updated pg 9 has
George Washington was born in MD (US census 1850) Sept 7, 1816 and died Aug
9 1895
He married Cecily E. Peterson, b 8-5-1834 d 3-12-1915.
As young people they had lived across the road from each other at Holy Cross
Church, Holy Cross, KY.
Children
1)William Henry Lyon Sr,
2)John Lyon m. Theresa Mattingly, and he died 1950. Their one son Luke m.
Ruth Newton and he died 1850
3)Janie Lyon b. 1860 m. Polland Clark and had Jos Clark, Cyril Hayden Clark,
John Dennis Clark (Lebanon, KY)

Cecily E. Peterson daughter of Peter Peterson was b abt 1797 in VA (1850
census) and Peter married Anna Peterson* (it did not state her maiden name
unless Peterson was her maiden name and they were cousins? or possibly she
could have been a Howard) Anna was b 9-2-1798 and died 9-17-1878, both are
buied at Holy Cross and she also came from Virginia.
End of Lyon Book information.
*in the chart in the book, she was also showed as Anna Peterson m. to Peter
Peterson

I, Dottie, did verify that they are buried at Holy Cross KY cemetery.
However, the book shows G. W. Lyons died 1894 but the cemetery records show
he died 1895, not sure which is correct?

Question: Is Anna really Anna Howard mother of Cecily as listed below--- as
Anna died 1878 so she would not have been alive for the 1880 census

If anyone comes up with additional information, Please advise.
We cannot "assume" she was Cecily's mother just because she was living with
them so we need
proof, right? Cecily's mother died 2 years before the census was taken??
according to the Now and
Then book........unless the book is wrong??

Thanks

Dear List,

Source Information:
Census Place Loretto, Marion, Kentucky
Family History Library Film 1254432
NA Film Number T9-0432
Page Number 100B

Does anyone recognize this family. I assume that G.W. Lyon married a Cecily
E. Howard, since a Ann Howard age 78 born 1802 from Maryland is living with
them.
