The St. Mary's County Historical Society recently published two books that I thought would be of interest. They are:

Charles County Court Marriage Records, 1866-1886 ($15)

Charles County Court Marriage Records, 1887-1903 ($16)

If interested, contact the Historical Society at 301-475-2467.

This will certainly save lots of trips to the Court House and elsewhere to look up records.

Also, I got an email from Regina Combs Hammett who tells me that her "History of St. Mary's County, Maryland" has been sent to the printer (this is the 4th edition, the original was published in 1977). No price yet, but as soon as I get further information, I'll let you know.

Also seeking a picture of Bayside aka Seventeen School (located on Big Chestnut Road, off of Rt. 234, between Leonardtown and Clements). Does anyone have one?
