Hi,

The will you have cited below is that of Lydia Seale, widow of John Stone.
Fresco says she was Lydia, widow of Jonathan Seale, but she's wrong--she was
his daughter.

Here's the will of John Stone, Lydia Seale's husband:

Will of John Raley, Sr., SMC, 3/31/1773-4/26/1774. Wife: Lydia, 1/3 of my
estate. Son: Gabriel, 2000 lbs. crop tobacco and all of my wearing apparel,
furniture, saddle and bridle. Grandson: John Michael Stone, a negro girl
Grace. Daughter: Jane Stone, remainder of estate. Exec: Daughter, Jane
Stone. Wit: Edward Abell, Jr. (Maryland Calendar of Wills).

Agree that Lydia Stone, daughter of John Stone and Jane Raley married Hugh
(I have him as Hugh, not Hugo) Williams. Jesuit Missions is the only
reference for his name being Hugo. He was also called Hugh when he
witnessed the will of Philip Clarke and when he was named in the will of
John Michael Stone, brother of Lydia Stone.

8/16/1788: John Hutchins, Bennet Hutchins, and Hugh Williams witnessed the
will of Philip Clarke.

Will of John Michael Stone, SMC, 2/15/1783-8/5/1785. Cousin: Ann Williams,
daughter of Hugh Williams, a negro girl named Grace. If Ann dies, the negro
is then devised to Jane Stone, the daughter of Francis Stone. In case I
cannot return home in two years, the negro Grace should be delivered to Hugh
Williams. Exec.: Brother-in-law, Hugh Williams. Wit.: Philip Clarke,
George Clarke. (St. Mary's County, Maryland Wills, 1776-1791 by Linda Reno
and Joann Humphries).
