I am tracing down a lost side-branch of my Bowles family from Washington,
D.C. and have discovered him in St. Mary's county.



The Maryland SSDI has the following information: (thanks to a volunteer on
the Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness site)

William Bowles
SSN: 212-14-5872
Born: 29 January 1909 (note: that was in Michigan)
Died: October 1977 in Leonardtown, St. Mary's Co., MD
Issued in Maryland before 1951

I know I could go the death certificate route but would not get as important
information family information as I could get just by finding an obituary.
Would anyone have access to an obituaries index or have any idea how else I
may be able to locate any information for William and any possible wife or
children?

The only other fact which I have about William is that he was a chemical
engineer at Dupont in Baltimore in 1958 (based on his father's obituary).

Any help would be much appreciated.
