59 Rowan Co., NC.-- Thomas Coode moved from the lower Yadkin River Valley, Old Rowan Co. NC, now Randolph and Davidson Counties, by 1771 as this was the last tax record of him.
2. William. Deceased by 12/11/1741. Appraisers were Wm. Shepard and Thomas Boult; next of kin was John Coad and Wm. Mills; Exec., Thomas Coad (Skinner). (Did William marry a Mills girl or was this a son-in-law?)

6. John IV. Died 9/1766. Married Susanna Guibert.
James Dunbar was the half brother of the Coode/Coad children as Ann (Blackistone) Coad married second, John Dunbar, Jr. James Dunbar died in 1750:
Will of James Dunbar, SMC 7/1/1750-9/24/1750. Father: John, use of negroes. Niece: Henrietta Guibert, negroes George and Hannah after the death of my father and "Timberneck" now in the possession of Thomas Underwood. To: John Coad, son of John negroes Nessy and Nell after my father's death. Exec: Father, John Dunbar. Wit: James Dickson, John Somerville, John Guibert. ----Elizabeth (Coode?) Cloud Sex: F Birth: 14 OCT 1711 in Chester Co., PA. ---Marriage 1 Thomas Underwood b: BET 1714 AND 1725 in PA. --Married: 5 AUG 1738 in PA. - Kennet Monthly Meeting (Quaker) ---The James Dunbar will, however (1750 in Md.) says Thomas Underwood was in possession of Dunbar's property "Timberneck". Can we assume that Elizabeth Coode/Cloud and Thomas Underwood were in Md. by 1750 and probably relatives? Joshua Guibert died in 1743. His Second wife, the former Jane Coode was executor of his estate. James Dunbar names Henrietta Guibert, as his "niece".She is the child of Joshua Guibert and Jane !
Coode. James Dunbar is the son of Ann Blakiston/Blackistone and John Dunbar. Her first marriage was to John Coode (1675)so James Dunbar was a half brother to John Coode, b. 1701 in Md., who married Susannah Guibert . Jane (Coode) Guibert was his aunt thru marriage as she was the half sister of John Coode (1675)--We have William Coode, b. 1677-d. aft. 1712 in Charles Co., Md.? his father was John (Col./Rev.) Coode, b . 1648 in England/ d. 1708 in St. Mary's Co., Md. Could the spelling have been changed to Cloud in Penn? William (Coode?) CLOUD Sex: M Birth: 1700 in Frederick Co., Va. Death: JUN 1791 in East Marlbourgh, Chester Co., Penn. Fact 1: See Note Page Note: Facts about this person: Burial June 19, 1791-East Marlbourgh, Chester Co., Penn. Father: WILLIAM COODE? B: 1677 St.Marys Co. Maryland-Mother: Elizabeth Ann HAYES b: 11 FEB 1692/93 in Fulwell, Oxfordshire, England--Marriage 1 Spouse Unknown --Married: WFT Est. 1719-1751
Children --Jeremiah CLOUD b: WFT Est. 1721-1750
Marriage 2 Mary PIERCE b: 3 MAR 1716/17 --Married: 24 AUG 1739 in East Marlbourgh, Chester Co., Penn.--Many of John Coode’s descendants and the families they intermarried with appear in and around Randolph Co. NC a few years later. The area around Randolph Co. NC. Was a religious center and many of the people moved here because of their religious beliefs. In 1751 The first monthly meeting of Friends (Quakers-Cane Creek MM, NC ) in central North Carolina begins in Alamance County .( Than Orange Co. and later Randolph Co.). In 1755 The Reverend Shubal Stearns leads a group of 15 Separate Baptists from Connecticut to Orange County NC. and establishes Sandy Creek Baptist Church, the “mother of Southern Baptist churches“. The Regulators rose up against the government by refusing to pay taxes and by meddling with the courts. The western rebels were defeated by Governor William Tryon on May 16,1771 during the Battle of Alamance Creek. This was in Orange Co!
., at this time. .The rebellion of the Regulators was crushed by military defeat. Nine members of the militia were killed and sixty-one wounded. The Regulator losses were much greater, though exact numbers are not known. Tryon took fifteen prisoners, of whom seven were executed later. Many Regulators moved on to other frontier areas beyond North Carolina. Those who stayed were offered pardons by the governor in exchange for pledging an oath of allegiance to the royal government
Matthew Mason was married to Mary Blackistone, sister of Ann Blackistone (wife of John Coad).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Nancy King who was married to a John Cood. He apparently died ca 1742. His widow Ann then married a Nicholas Tripp. Nicholas had a land survey done in 1749 in Frederick Va (next to a smaller tract laid out for Timothy Cude and Mary. Cude) This indicates the possibility Timothy Cude could be a son of Ann (King) Tripp and her first husband John Coode. Records indicate that Nicholas married Nancy about 1743. The land records show her with John Coode in 23 Nov 1741 then in 1745 Jan she is a Tripp. Timothy would have been born before 1748. Nicholas Tripp was next found in Orange Co NC where he bought land in 1758. Three of his children moved to Edgefield SC. Son William and dtrs Peggy and Jemima. Both the girls married Stallworth men in NC. . The Tripp children and Arthur Archibald Coody finding their way to Edgefield SC seemingly about the same time seems a little more th!
an coincidence. Susanna Coode, daughter of John Jr. (1675) Married Charles King, Jr. He's shown as one of the legal representatives of William Coad, son of John Jr.(1675)--We don't have a John with a 1743 death date, so this would have to be one of Williams (1677)children.If this John’s birth date was abt. 1700 and Timothy’s birth abt. 1740, If he was still a minor the dates would fit. The Timothy Coode/Cude that are branch came from was suppose to be born abt. 1748, this is based on the first record of him in 1768 in NC, so how could he be grown with a wife in 1749? there was either an earlier Timothy or the birth date is off. His death was in 1813, so if he was born around 1740 . He would have been 73 at death. I believe that the earlier dates are correct and that he had an earlier marriage, because of the birth dates of his children. There is a gap in the dates of about five years. If we except the earlier date and marriage, there is probably more children
