Jane Coad was the daughter of John Coad, Jr. and his one and only wife, Ann
Blackistone.
Will of John Coode, SMC, 4/20/1718-4/29/1718. Eldest son: Thomas,
personalty and 192 ac. upon the Mattapany River, St. Clement's Hundred. If
he dies without issue to pass to youngest son, William; if William dies
without issue, to be divided among three daughters, viz., Jane, Susanna, and
Ann. Second son: John, personalty and 330 ac. "Crosshall" or "Dinard's
Point"; if he dies without issue to son William and if William dies without
issue to the three daughters afsd. To: King and Queen Parish for a glebe,
in consideration of 10,000 lbs. tobacco received by testator, land bought of
Samuel Cooksey. To: James Lewis, "Frogg Hall", provided he pays my
executors 7,500 lbs. tobacco according to bond. Daughters: Jane (eldest
dau.), Susanna, and Mary, personalty. Wife: Ann, Exec., her thirds and
residue of personal estate during life; at her deceased to children afsd.,
equally. Overseers: Brother, William and Matthew Mason. Wit.: John
Hoskins, Daniel Kelly, John Barnes, Daniel Henly. (Maryland Calendar of
Wills).
