Edward Morgan, the immigrant, married first, _____Crane, daughter of Robert
Crane. Robert Crane had another daughter named Mary Crane who married
William Guyther. They were not the same girl.
Will of Robert Crane, St. George's Hundred, SMC, 10/20/1705-8/12/1708.
Grandson, Robert (no surname given), and heirs, dwelling plantation and
personalty; if he dies without issue to pass to William Guyther, Jr. and
heirs. Granddaughter: Jane, dau. of Edward Morgan, personalty. Exec:
William Guyther, Jr. Wit: William Watts and William and Margaret Stedman
(should be Sledmore). (Maryland Calendar of Wills).
Edward Morgan died in 1722, not 1718. At least, that's when his will was
probated.
Will of Edward Morgan, SMC, 4/20/1718-7/18/1722: To: Son, John and
daughter, Mary 200 ac. "Parish" equally. Son: Benjamin, personalty at age
18. To: Sons, John and Edward; daughter Sarah; and granddaughter, Jane
Cheverell, 1 shilling each. Wife: Mary, Exec., 1/3 residue of estate.
Remaining 2/3 of estate to 5 children equally: Mary, Elizabeth, Eleanor,
William, and Benjamin. Executor is desired not to delude any of the
children to the Romanish Church. Wit: George Clark, Thomas Watts, William
Watts, Anthony Simmons (Sims), John Gill. (Maryland Calendar of Wills).
NOTE: The property was actually called "Parish Beadle."
Mary Morgan, daughter of Edward Morgan, was not the daughter of ____Crane.
She was the daughter of the second wife, Mary Manning.
Mary Manning was the daughter of John Manning and Mary Tant. Mary (Manning)
Morgan died in 1728.
Will of Mary Morgin, SMC, 11/12/1726-6/1/1728. Children: Elizabeth Morgan,
Eleanor Morgan, and William Morgan, personalty. Residue to 4 children
equally. Son, William to be in the care of Thomas Plummer to age 18. Exec:
Son-in-law, John Sikes. Wit: Robert Ford, Ann Medley, Mary Ford.

Although Mary's will doesn't specifically name Mary as her daughter, she
does refer to John Sikes as her son-in-law and he was the husband of Mary.
