There IS a Bed and breakfast inn in Hollywood, MD called the Victorian
Candle. The website is http://www.victorian-candle.com/index.php
While the Bed and Breakfast experience is not for everyone, it offers a
taste of the local lifestyle as innkeepers interact with their guests. It's
a joy to learn about the best restaurants, which road will take you to that
tiny graveyard your 7th great grandfather is buried in, and which local but
little known attractions should not be missed. For individuals who are
traveling solo, staying at a Bed and Breakfasts offers both a higher degree
of safety and a chance to chat with other guests over a gourmet breakfast.
Rooms are often decorated with antiques and the grounds/gardens well kept.
Many B and Bs offer little extras such as hot tubs, homemade cookies or a
glass of wine in the evening, and libraries of books and games for guest to
borrow during their stay. Another plus for the weary traveler is the fact
that many B and B do not allow children. This means that there will be no
loud parties down the hall or screaming babies in the room next door! Yes,
staying a B and B can be pricy. However, if one enjoys upscale travel, the
B and B experience is not to be missed.
