Hi,

it means it is an inventory record; there will be another record for the
Admin "A"; there may be several "A"'s and an occasional "D" for
distribution.

Jasper Allen does not have a county, but looks like either St. Mary's or
Charles Co. Md
John Howerton Anne Arundel County, Md
Mathew Enton; Talbot County Md

Dear List,

This is a continuation of ongoing MDSTMARY list assistance. Kay in CA
() wants to know what county the "I"
represents in the first line of each entry on the partially scanned
document shown below between the dotted lines. I asked her if the "I"
could represent something else. Her reply included a partially scanned
document. Because I don't know what the "I" represents, I decided to
transcribe the attached scan and pass it along to the list.
Maybe someone else can help. Please reply to the
address.

Here's the email I received with the transcribed scan: [Notes:
Bracketed comments in the quoted email are mine. The Jasper Allen entry
on the partial scan includes the name of Kay's ancestor, George Noakes.]

recognize those as counties - then some have a county and no "I" The
estate of George Noaks does not have an "I" but has SM. Since these
papers are from Wills files, maybe it has something to do with an
inventory???
