Thank you so much Linda & John for your information - Linda you had sent me
that several years ago.
Linda you wrote:
Charles G. Lee of St. Mary's County was born between 1776-1780.
My original Charles G. Lee was born abt. 1782-1783 Maryland -married abt
1804-1805 (can't confirm this) to Violette Bourne-- could this be a 1st or 2nd
wife???? He moved to Indiana with Violette
Do you have a death date for Mary Ann Hutchins??? Do you have any children
for Charles & Mary???
He married Mary Ann Hutchins, January 4, 1811 in St. Mary's County,
therefore he does not match with the information from Mary regarding a Charles G. Lee,
born 1811-1812.
This Charles G. was the son of Charles G.
In 1850, there were two men named Charles G. Lee, both from Maryland, one
living in Indiana and the other in Iowa.
These 2 are ours - On 1850 Indiana census I have Charles age 68 & Violette
age 66 with a Ruth Reed age 19 d/o Lucretia Lee & Jonathan Reed.
Son Charles G. was living in Iowa we think - they moved back & forth.
By the 1860 Violette was living in Iowa with son Thomas so we believe
(Charles her husband had died but we can't find where - we are working on that.
Violette ended up in Nodaway Co. Missouri with daughter Sarah/Sally "Lee"
Swinford and is buried there - am trying to see if they have death records back in
1865
I won't even begin counting the number simply named Charles Lee.
Unfortunately, a common name.
Thanks for all your help, your heads must be spinning with all this
information you give out to everyone.
Mary
John Dobricky's summary of the his and my line agrees with my information.
