Even in the 1930's in southern Missouri we would move to town in the winter
so children could go to school. When planting time came it was back to the
farm.
Some times county lines were changed.
Or maybe they could see a 100 years ahead to know where the capital would
be.

I suspect that there may have been a pecking order in those days
between St Mary's Co. and Charles Co., just as there is today between
Montgomery Co. and Prince George's Co. It may be that Robert and Mary
Greene, among other families, were moving slowly to Charles Co..
Families, including my own, may have wanted to move to a more
prosperous country nearer to the nation's capital.
It may be that they bought property prior to a move, etc. I don't
find this property-death situation to be too important.
