Most likely it was the priest who recorded the information, not Mary
Magdalene Raley, and somebody flubbed the name. If you can find anyone with
the surname Bubberly anywhere in Maryland, please let me know.
Mary Magdalene Raley was baptized at St. Francis Xavier, Newtown on October
05, 1772. Here's the record:
10/5/1772: Baptized Mary Mag., child of Henry and Joan Reily. GP: Jesse
Greenwell and Ann Jarboe. (Jesuit Missions, p. 125).

Linda, I haven't researched the Riley family beyond their connections to the
Rhodes so I do not have any knowledge of Bubberly in Missouri, Kentucky or
Maryland, beyond what appears in the Perry County Missouri Marriages, book
1, page 27.
No doubt the clerk could have erred on Bubberly. I wonder if the same
would be true between Riley and Raley? Peg

This was my basis for placing Jane Mills, daughter of Nicholas Mills, as
first, the wife of Henry Goldsborough and second, of Henry Sylvester Raley.
11/24/1767: Admin. accts. of Henry Goldsborough, SMC. Payments to: Col.
Geo. Plater, Hugh Hopewell, George Hughs, Col. Abraham Barnes, Edward Abell,
Timothy Bowes, Monica Williams. Admx.: Jane Goldsborough. (Admin. accts. of
the Prerogative Court of Maryland, Libers, 52-58, 1764-1768 by V. L.
Skinner, Jr.). NOTE: This record is not on CD #206.
Admin. accts. of Henry Goldsborough 12/24/1769; sureties were Justinian
Mills and Matthew Clarke; Admx., Jane Raley, wife of Henry Raley (Skinner).
Justinian Mills was the brother of Jane Mills and was surety for the estate
of his sister's husband.
Many times the surname was spelled as Goldsberry, but they're all
Goldsboroughs. They're basically descended from John Goldsborough (Goldsberry):
Will of John Goldsberry, planter, SMC, probated 3/29/1718. Son: Robert,
lease of 60 ac. and personalty. Son: William, personalty. To: Margaret
Goldsberry, grandson Edward Goldsberry, and John (son of William Goldsberry)
personalty. Sons: Robert and William, residue of estate equally. Wit:
Thomas Blackman, Thomas Thornley, Margaret Goldsberry (Gouldsberry).
Inventory, 5/7/1718--appraisers were Thomas Blackman, John Miles and
creditors were Thomas Blackman and John Raley. (Note: This is, I believe, the
father of Henry Sylvester Raley).
John and William Goldsborough were listed as the next of kin of Benjamin
Buckler, 4/3/1714 (Skinner).
I don't know of any connection between John Goldsborough and Ann
Goldsborough, wife of John Shercliffe. The Goldsboroughs were Catholic. Linda Reno
