Linda,
As you can see from my posting, the information of George Hayden marrying
Grace Brewer came from you, but I did not date when you had said it. I'm
trying to do that now, because things do change once more is learned.
But I was questioning where Dottie got the idea Charity was a Shercliffe,
not sure where that idea ever came from.

Jerry,
To my knowledge, there was no one named Charity Shercliffe. Where did you
get the idea that George Hayden m. first, Ann Mattingly; second, Charity;
and third, Grace Brewer. He didn't. He married first, Ann Mattingly (I'm
99% sure of this) and second, Charity. He died in 1754 and Charity married
next, William Morgan.
I have two choices for who Charity was. Sebastian Thompson and Charity
Bailey had a daughter named Charity who married Ignatius Wheeler, Jr. (son
of Ignatius Wheeler and Frances Slye) before 1735. She was still Charity
Wheeler at the time of her father's will in 1742, but I can find no records
whatsoever of either her or Ignatius after that time. Charles Hayden, son
of George and Charity, was born about 1747 and this would fall in line with
Charity perhaps being widowed and remarrying.
The other one is Charity Perry, daughter of Robert Perry and his first wife,
Ann Miller. Charity had a sister named Mary Miller who m. John Batson, son
of Thomas Batson and his second wife (his first wife was Penelope who had
been married first to John Bailey, Jr., brother of Charity Bailey).
