Benjamin TUCKER in Westmoreland Co., VA. Is he related to John TUCKER who
d. 1671 in Westmoreland Co, VA?



In Calvert Co. Md there was in 1724, a John and Ann TUCKER, Benjamin TUCKER
and Thomas TUCKER. Thomas was Ex. will of Ann. Ann's next of kin was John
and Benjamin.



Also in Calvert County, MD was a John TUCKER, with wife, Amey, whose will
was probated in 1669-1670.

Henry Tucker listed above married Sarah Evans daughter of David Evans.



The will of James BOWLES, proved 1729, St. M. Co, MD, gave land where Henry
Tucker lived at the time.

On 23 Aug. 1736, Henry NETHERTON and Nicholas MINOR, attorney
forHenry TUCKER of St. M. Co.,
caused the land of John TUCKER to be surveyed to determine the bounds of
the 77 A. which Benjamin received from John TUCKER.. On 8 March 1736,
Henry TUCKER of Maryland sold the land to Willoughby NEWTON for 20 pounds
sterling. The land had become Henry's right as Benjamin's son(
"Westmoreland Deeds and Wills" 8, part 2, p. 467.) Henry TUCKER posted
bond to guarantee his title to the land, with witnesses Richard JACKSON,
John RICE, and John LEWIS. (The land adjoined John LEWIS.)

14 Jan. 1740 - Know all men by these presents that I John GOREHAM of Cople
Parish in County of Westmoreland doe owe and justly stand indebted unto
James BALEY of the same Parish and County in the penal sum of Five pounds
current money to the which payment well and truly to be made I bind myself
my heirs firmly by these presents. Sealed with my Seal and dated this
fourteenth day of January in the fourteenth year of the Reign of our
Sovereign Lord George the Second by the grace of God of Great Brittain
Frence and ireland. King. Defender of the faith and in the year of our
Lord God 1740.
The condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bounden
John GOREHAM his heirs shall observe and keep all the Covenants which on
his and their parts ought to be observed and kept comprised in one
Indenture of Bargain and Sale made between John GOREHAM and James BALEY
according to the true meaning of the same Indenture. That then the above
obligation to be void and of none effect, otherwise to stand remain and be
in full force and virtue.

years and in 1743 rent should be paid... Willoughby NEWTON doth lease to
farm let to John GORUM and Mary, his wife, and Thomas GORUM, his son, ...
200 acres whereon Paul HOWELL formerly built a small house... on a branch
that makes out of Bull Run commonly called "Little Rocky" and is part of a
tract of 1719 acres... granted Willoughby NEWTON... annual rent five
