Julie, here is what I found on the tract. "Cheney's Neck" is a land tract found
in Washington County that consists of 52 acres belonging to Charles Cheney on 29
Sept 1754/56. It is found on the Conococheague Creek which is a branch of the
Potomac River. This land tract begins at the Potomac River. It is near to
Addition to Snowden's Friendship, Sand Bank, Second Addition to Chaneys Neck,
Third Addition to Cheaney's Neck, Addition to Chews Farm, and Addition to
Snowden's Friendship. This tract of land is located in the Downeysville
District. On 15 March 1755 Charles Chaney sold to Aaron Moore 52 acres and on 18
Sept 1756 Aaron Moore sold to Isaac Dawson 52 acres. (( This information is from
the original Arthur G. Tracey's manuscript collection found at the Historical
Society of Carroll County in Westminster, MD--- for the Washington County Land
Tracts))
