Haven't done wills, but ran across the following which I thought might be of
interest to you:
From HISTORY OF WESTERN MARYLAND; J. Thomas Scharf; Louis H. Everts;
Philadelphia, PA; 1882: under date 20 November 1765: a copper mining
agreement between Stephen Richards and John Stevenson on Stevenson's land
witnessed by Upton Sheredine and Christopher Carman. Also, present at
dedication of Antietam Cemetary 17 September 1867, General E. A. Carman of
New Jersey, present.
Will keep my eye open for other Carman info and search other counties for
wills. Do you have any given names, or just all Carmans of Washington Co?
