I am going to Jefferson Co. Court House to see if I can find any Twigg info from early 1800s to 1900. I found this marriage listed in Jefferson Co. but do not know what area and would like to know if anyone can give additional information on this couple:

Gerard D. Rutherford and Rachel Ann Twiggs married August 9, 1864 - Place of marriage, Jefferson Co. at Bride's Brother's (no name given).

Age of husband 22 years February 3, 1864 - Age of wife, 20 years July, 1864 - Both are Single. Husband was born in Jefferson Co., VA - Wife born in Berkeley Co., VA - Both reside in Jefferson Co., VA.
Names of husband's parents: Uriah & Phebe Rutherford. Names of wife's parents: Jeremiah and Catherine Twiggs. Occupation of husband is Soldier in confederate Army. License Issued: Aug. 8, 1864. Consent of bride's mother given for her marriage; her father is deceased. T.A. Moore, Clerk. Witness: Josiah Wilson.
