The Newcomer farm, on the road into Sharpsburg was the Orndorff 's called Mt.
Pleasant. As you go into Sharpsburg, there is an old barn on the left side.
The estate called Mt. Pleasant is a white farm house. It is in very bad
condition, needs a good paint job it is on the right. My Grove relatives
owned part of Mt Pleasant, as stated in my gr gr grandmothers will.
I have a scanner but dont know how to send pictures. If you can give me
directions I can send pictures. We lived in Md for 22 years and 2 years
before moving to Fla found out that is where my Grove, Hess, Houser, Orndorff
roots were from.
In 1995 the Newcomer farm was up form sale for about 300,000. We were a
little short ( HA HA ) so couldnt but the place.
