Seeking information on the ancestors, siblings, and descendants of the
following Myers of the southern part of Washington County Maryland.
The following is an extract from the 1783 Tax Index from the Maryland State
Archives.
Adam Myres. Addition to Piles' Delight, pt, 50 acres. WA Lower Antietam and
Sharpsburg.
Frederick Myres. WA Lower Antietam and Sharpsburg.
Jacob Myres. Addition to Piles' Delight, pt, 200 acres. WA Lower Antietam
and Sharpsburg.
Michal Myres. Piles' Delight, pt, 390 acres. WA Lower Antietam and
Sharpsburg.
Peter Myres. Antietam Bottom, pt, 73 acres. WA Lower Antietam and
Sharpsburg.
The original patents for the properties are as follows:
Piles Delight Prince Georges County (now Washington County) 724 acres
on 14 Dec 1742 to Richard Sprigg
Addition to Piles Delight Prince Georges County (now Washington County)
117 acres on 9 Aug 1943 to Col. Edward Sprigg
Piles Delight Addition Frederick County (now Washington County 2,617
acres on 30 Jan 1751 to Col. Edward Sprigg
I would also appreciate any information on the land transactions that
occurred from the time of the Sprigg purchases up to the point of
acquisition by the Myers owners and then the information on the sale of the
property by the respective Myers owners.
