FIRST GENERATION
1. David FURRY\FORRIE was born on January 18, 1745. He died on February
3, 1809 in Washington Co., MD. He was buried in Keedy Graveyard, Eakles
Mill, Washington Co., MD. Name on the Gravestones is spelled FORRIE.. A
transcript of David Furry's will: I David Furry of Washington County and
state of Maryland. I will and bequeath unto my well beloved wife Magdalen
during her natural life the house I now live in...agreeable to the lease I
obtained from Daniel Keedy..and in cords of good wood which Daniel Keedy
shall deliver to her door yearly.
I give and bequeath unto my son-in-law Daniel Keedy..the whole of the land
he now lives...I do hereby acknowledge that he gave me full consideration
for the same by giving me a bond to convey the whole of the lands where on
my son John now lives..It was an exchange that took place between us about
2 years ago...that said land..not..as any part of his legaicy hereby willed
to his wife Mary.
I hereby will and bequeath to my beloved son-in-law John Plecher[Blecher]
and his wife Barbary...the land where on they now live..a tract of land
called Strife.
I give and bequeath unto my well beloved son John during his natural life
the whole of the land I have a bond for from Daniel Keedy. .. where on my
son John now lives...after the death of my son John the land to be sold by
my Executive to the best advantage they can and deed to be made by the
Executors to the purchasers, and out of the first money received out of
said land, John's two children to wit Martin and Elizabeth....the balance
of said money divided among the whole of my children, including John's wife.
I will and bequeath to my well beloved son-in-law Henry Highkirk and his
wfe Nancy..all the land at the Merea Spring..the land whare on they now
live...I have the right or title to it being the land Frederick Rohrer and
myself purchased from James Chaplin..
I hereby will and order that the money due to my daughter Elizabeth Hill
out of my estate shall and must remain in the hands of Daniel Keedy and he
to pay her said money as he may...at her death such balance shall be
equilly divided among her children and paid as they come of age.
I hereby nominate and apoint Daniel Keedy and John Keedy whole and sole
executors of this my last will

[note that Getting in German is probably KEEDY in English, thus 2 of the
Keedy bros were witnesses and the other 2 where the executors].
In the extract of the Administative Accounts of this will heirs include:
Martin and Elizabeth Furry, (indicating John had died shortly after his
father), Mary Keedy, Elizabeth Hill, Nancy Nighkirk, Magdalena Keedy,
Barbara Blecher, Catharine Furry.
Magdelena ?GINGERICH was born on June 24, 1745. She died on November 15,
1822 in Washington Co., MD. She was buried in Keedy Graveyard, Eakles
Mill, Washington Co., MD. David FURRY\FORRIE and Magdelena ?GINGERICH had
the following children:

4iii.Catharine FURRY died before 1824.

3. Elizabeth FURRY was born in 1770. She died on July 25, 1847 in
Washington Co., MD. She was buried in Keedy Graveyard, Eakles Mill,
Washington Co., MD. Burried next to her mother, Elizabeth Hill wife of
John Hill, d. July 25, 1847 age 77.
5. Barbara FURRY was born on March 26, 1780. She died on July 23, 1814 in
Washington Co., MD. She was buried in Keedy Graveyard, Eakles Mill,
Washington Co., MD. Buried between her father and husband. Barbara Blecher
b. Mar 26, 1780, d. July 23, 1814, age 34 yr. 3 mo. 27 da.
She was married to John BLEACHER on April 6, 1804 in Washington Co MD
(lic). John BLEACHER was born on April 18, 1776. He died on November 10,
1834. He was buried in Keedy Graveyard, Eakles Mill, Washington Co., MD.
6. Nancy FURRY. She was married to Henry Neikirk on April 16, 1805 in
Washington Co MD (lic). Nancy FURRY and Henry Neikirk had the following
children:

7. Mary FERRY\FURREY was born on November 10, 1767. She signed a will on
May 7, 1813. She died on November 25, 1839 in Washington Co MD. She had
an estate probated on March 6, 1840 in Washington Co MD. She was buried in
Keedy Graveyard, Eakles Mill, Washington Co., MD. buried between her
husband and sister Elizabeth, Mary Keedy b. Nov 10, 1767, d. Nov 25, 1839
age 72yr 15da. married Daniel KEEDY (son of Johann Henrich (Henry)
KEEDY-GUDING and Barbara BLECKER(?)) was born on June 23, 1766 in
Washington Co MD. He died on June 24, 1823 in Keddysville, MD. He had an
estate probated on July 22, 1824 in Washington Co MD. He signed a will on
March 12, 1832 in Washington Co. MD. He was buried in Keedy Graveyard,
Eakles Mill, Washington Co., MD. Burried nex t to his wife Mary and
father. Daniel Keedy Sr. b. June 23, 1766, d. 24 June 1823 age 57 yrs. 24
das. Mary FERRY\FURREY and Daniel KEEDY had the following children:

THIRD GENERATION
10. Manasses Neikirk1,2 was born in 1809.He was married to Mary Ann POPE
in December 1831 in Washington Co., MD. He obtained a marriage license on
December 21, 1831 in Washington Co., MD. Manasses Neikirk and Mary Ann
POPE had the following children:
+14i.Margaret Ellen Neikirk (born in 1832).
11. Elizabeth KEEDY3 was born on August 3, 1791.4 She died on March 8,
1869.4 She was buried in Bakersville Cemetery.
She was married to Henry C. WELTY (son of Christian WELTY and Catharina
YOST) on December 22, 1813 in Washington Co MD (lic.). Henry C. WELTY was
born on September 10, 1786 in Lancaster Co., PA. He died on May 30, 1850.
He was buried in Bakersville Cemetery.4 Elizabeth KEEDY and Henry C. WELTY
had the following children:
15i.John WELTY.
16ii.Daniel WELTY was born on July 6, 1815 in Washington Co MD.
17iii.Joseph WELTY was born on May 28, 1817.
18iv.Mary Ann WELTY was born on October 10, 1819. She died on July 17,
1888.
19v.David WELTY was born on October 1, 1821.
20vi.Elizabeth WELTY was born on July 25, 1823.
21vii.Henry WELTY Jr was born on July 1, 1825. He died on July 11, 1887.
+22viii.Christian C. WELTY (born on December 21, 1826).
23ix.Magdelena WELTY was born on August 25, 1830 in Washington Co MD.
She died on April 17, 1907.
12. John D. KEEDY3 was born in 1798. Operated a Mill built by Daniel
Keedy (His father?), the mill was destroyed by fire and rebuilt by John.
He sold the Mill to Isaac Newcomer in 1830s and moved to Germantown, Ohio.
There are two marriage licenses issued to hi in Washington County one says
to Elizabeth Snavely 25 May 1818 another says to Elizabeth Schnebly 27
April 1822. The second may be for a replacement license, as Elizabeth
seems to be the same person.
He was married to Elizabeth SNAVELY on May 25, 1818 in (lic.) Washington Co
MD. Elizabeth SNAVELY died before 1822. John D. KEEDY and Elizabeth
SNAVELY had the following children:
24i.Aaron KEEDY was born about 1814.
25ii.Daniel KEEDY was born about 1816.
26iii.Joshua KEEDY was born about 1820.
27iv.Ellas KEEDY was born about 1822.
He was married to Elizabeth SHUEY(?) on April 27, 1822 in Washington Co MD
(lic.). Newspaper announcement: John D Keedy to Mrs. Elizabeth Schnebly
married Sunday last (from 30 April 1822) by Rev. R.J. Reilly.
13. Daniel KEEDY3 was born on November 3, 1799. He died on August 13,
1876 in Keedysville, Washington Co MD. He was buried in United Brethern
Church of Boonsboro, MD. He was married to Sophia MILLER (daughter of John
MILLER and Barbara WEAVER) on December 20, 1827 in Washington Co. MD.5
Sophia MILLER was born on November 28, 1809. She died on November 15,
1880. She was buried in United Brethern Church, Boonsboro MD. Daniel
KEEDY and Sophia MILLER had the following children:
+28i.David Daniel KEEDY (born on February 16, 1829).
+29ii.Dr. John D KEEDY (born on February 11, 1831).
+30iii.Joseph E. KEEDY (born on June 24, 1832).
31iv.Rev Cornelious L. KEEDY3 was born on March 28, 1834. Once owned
Kee Mar Seminary, preached in Johnstown PA
+32v.Ruben M KEEDY (born on October 23, 1835).
33vi.Dr. Samuel H KEEDY3 was born on May 10, 1838 in Keedysville,
Washington Co. MD. He died on May 14, 1900. Educated at Philadelphia
College, was a physcian and served in the Civil War. was a consul for the
US at Gronoble France for Presidents Harrison, Cleveland, and McKinley.
