You will find copies of the Census pages for James which I have
listed below &
others I found in the 1880 WVa Census , should be in your AOL
-download-mail box.
They are at Indian School, Fairmont, MarionCo,WV... That is where you
may find the Cemetery?

CENSUS 1850, VA, Marion Co., Eastern Dist 34, pg 132B, dweling
287/288 lists:
DOWNEY, James 47M- Farmer- b. MD.
Nancy 42F- wife-b.MD.
William 21M- Laborer-b.VA
Alphond 20M-
Sarah 17F-
Eli 11M-
James 8M-
John 4M- all children b. VA.
James is dead by 1880.. Nancy is l72F living w/ John in WV pg 388C
Eli has family in 1880 ,,,pg 388D
There is an A. Downey b.1829 in the 1880 Census in VA also
ocopied for you.
