The C&O Canal records can be accessed at the MD State Archives - College
Park Branch. Very few canal records survived. Here is a sample of what
information can be found in the records - the Rootsweb List Manager for
Allegany Co. and I spent an entire Saturday at the facility and didn't make
a dent. I am sure they would have the RR records, also.
