Phil,
I am researching Littles as well. Perhaps this will help you: My Littles
were also in Hagerstown in the 1700's and may be related to yours. Mine are
descended from the Littles of Littlestown, Pennsylvania. This family came
from Germany with the name Klein. They translated the meaning of the name
Klein into English and became Littles.

I have a Joseph who was born and baptized a Klein in 1766. He married,
baptized his children, and died a Little. This Joseph, by the way, had 14
children, one of whom was a David born in 1797.

I would look for a birth for your David with the name of Klein in
Pennsylvania. Some Littles moved from PA to Washington County around this
time period. My Joseph was married in PA in 1786, but at least some of his
children were born in Washington County.

I am just starting to put this family together myself. If it appears we have
the same family, I'd love to share information.
