I have only started this line. Mary Susan Nitzel of Washington County married Senator Joseph Farrow of Williamsport circa 1850's. Are you researching this line? I have Mary Susan's children etc.

TERESA,
I SEE NITZEL LISTED AS A FAMILY LINE ON YOUR NOTE. A BIBLE RECORD SHOWS JOHN
NITZEL WAS BORN NOV 2,1797. I GUESS YOU HAVE THIS IF NOT REPLY.

Sharon and list...I apologize if this question is stupid. Is a plat map a
map of the entire area? I do not know what it would show. What are tracts?

Also, there are numerous books for sale by a man named William N. Hurley.
Sadly, he has never researched my surname. Has anyone seen these works? I
was wondering what his research is like. Does he take request to do
surnames?

Last but not least. The graves I need to search are in Riverview. I have
been there and to the Osbourne Funeral home. No stones, no info. The
funeral home was given a map with no info on a very large area. Would this
info be recorded elsewhere? I have the cemetery info. but had hoped to find
more. There were no obits for any of my family in the Hagerstown papers.
Could there have been a local paper that may have listed the obits?

Thank you for any info.

Paul,

There is a Plat Map at this site but it is NOT user friendly. It shows much
too large to get an idea of where anything is.

Williamsport was in the west portion of Conococheague Hundred. I always
thought Marsh Hundred was north of Hagerstown, where present-day Marsh Pike
is situated, near the Franklin Co. PA line but I'm not sure.

If you go to the court house in Hagerstown, you can get a copy of the plat
map showing Conococheague Hundred. I think it was around $10 because the
copy is quite large. It has all the tracts that Dr. Tracey researched and
put into place. There could be errors in where the tracts are placed but I
haven't found one yet.

Sharon
