Daisy, a group of us looked at the listings of the cemeteries where we
know there are family burials and there are entries like 3 graves, no
stones, 2 graves, no stones, or one grave, plain stone. A lot of
tombstones didn't make it by 1936 which was the latest date I believe
that Piper read stones. One family marker of ours became unreadable
between1988 and 2003 - it is sort of a white slab with bumps on it.
There are also unmarked graves. Compound that with several names for
cemeteries and it can be very tough to find them. A lot of times even
locals don't know where they are. God bless the individuals and
societies who do all the work to record them or we'd have nothing at all
many times. Have you looked for your surname without trying to pinpoint
the location? I have Vol. II and III and there are no Newsoms listed.
Perhaps others can check their volumes for you.
Good luck!

Although several Methodist cemeteries are listed in Samuel Webster Piper's "Washington County Cemetery Records," I didn't find Jane Newson's name. It made me wonder if perhaps this cemetery is not included in the publication. Would anyone on the list know where this cemetery is located? Was it included in the publication of cemetery records?
