Hi Patsy, As long as you are going in that direction,
go to Middletown, Md. where the Stottlemyer family
really started out in Md. At the time they went
there, it was still Frederick Co. In 1760 David
Stottlemyer, bought land from a man whose last name
was Fink. I don't know if Leah Spade of Smithsburg is
still alive, but she kept records in her home of many
of the first settlers to that section of Md. I am a
direct decendent of Old David Stottlemyer. My line is

Old David, Devault, Devault, Robert Fulton
Stottlemyer, Lavina Virginia, Amanda Valetta
