I would suggest that you find an older map and overlay or compare to the modern map do identify your roads.

I am hoping someone on the list might be able to assist. Planning a trip
down to MD and Clearspring area to do some research, we decided to try to find
the place where my husband's family home once stood.
Looking at an 1877 map from the MD Atlas a relative gave us a few years
ago, we see no road names just numbers i.e. 329, 286, etc. The map has his
great granddmother's name "Mrs. Chambers" printed just above Green Spring P.O
and further down what appears to be a road School No. 7. This part of the map
designates Fort Fredrick, the C & O Canal, Four Locks etc. The lines which
appear to be roads are just designated with the numbers.
Any suggestions of how we could locate/identify them as they break off
from a main road which appears to go along the canal? Wonder if they even exist
today?
