JUNE 13, 1914-AUG. 12, 2005 Richard Joseph "Pappy"
Ridenour, 91, . of 16405 Mount Tabor Road, and formerly of 735 Washington
Ave., Hagerstown, Md., died Friday, Aug. 12, 2005, at Washington County
Hospital.
Born June 13, 1914, in Halfway, Md., he was the was the son of the late
Milton and Edith Wissinger
Ridenour.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carleta M. Ridenour, on Nov. 26,
1993.,
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
He retired from Fairchild Aircraft and General Motors.
He was a member of the Hagerstown Bible Church. He was a life member of
the Western Maryland Sportsman Club.
He is survived by one daughter, Betty J. Tarsus and husband, William G.,
of Hagerstown; one sister, Marie Garling of Greencastle, Pa.; two
brothers, Walter Ridenour of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Emory Ridenour of
Hagerstown; one granddaughter, Billie Jo Sellers and husband, Mark W., of
Boonsboro, Md.; and one great-grandson, Matthew "Levi" Sellers of
Boonsboro.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gaither C. Ridenour and Milton
Ridenour, and one sister, Goldie Lieninger.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E.
Wilson Blvd. The Rev. Dale R. Carver will officiate. Burial will be in
Cedar Lawn Memorial Park .
. Family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at, the funeral home ..
