Thanks for the info Brenda - maybe we are on to something?

My ancestor Augustine Wade may have been born around the same time as Lancelot Wade (both interesting names!). Augustine enlisted in the 6th Regiment of the Maryland Line of the Continental Army on February 12, 1777 and was wounded at the Battle of Brandywine on September 11, 1777 and discharged June 13, 1778. He received a pension from the state of Maryland while resident of Washington County. He passed away 1791 from what I can tell. His widow, Eleanor lived to be 99 years old probably later a resident of Allegany County Maryland. Probably she never remarried. THe only child we are definite about is Henry Wade born 1788 in Maryland or Ohio. From the 1790 census records, it appears he had another son and a daughter.

I wish I could connect Augustine with your Wades Brenda - possibly he is a brother of Lancelot? Where were your Wades? People seemed to be moving around back then, I guess many were tempted by the land in the West of maryland, etc etc. What more can you tell me about Zachariah Wade and Ann Noble?

Thanks Brenda and everyone else for their help and Merry Christmas!

-Eden
