Lauren,
Thank you for your information and for checking your records. A negative
response can be a great help as well, in its own way. I will keep the names
you found on file but it probably confirms that the Heinamens I'm seeking
were the first of their family to immigrate. The clarification on where the
later marriage records are is appreciated also!
Thanks!

Please refer to the last message I sent to the list for information on
marriage records. The only spelling anywhere close to your Heinamen in
the marriage index is this entry:
HINEMAN, James/Ruth CRUNKLETON 6/2/1812
The marriage license index only goes to 1860 and your marriage doesn't
appear there so it was probably after 1860 if it was in Washington
County MD.
There is a Joseph HEINSMAN in the will index (1776-1890) who has a will
and estate documents in 1822 - his is the only entry anywhere close to
your Heinaman. There is nothing in the estate distributions. I've also
checked the Frederick County marriage license index (1778-1810) and
there are no entries for your surname for that period.
It appears you are looking at a period later than I have the resources
to check. Perhaps someone else on the list can lend a hand.
