Carol,
There is a FRY/FREY family Bible in the Washington County Free Library which has been published in Marsha Lynn Fuller's FAMILY BIBLE RECORDS IN THE WASHINGTON COUNTY FREE LIBRARY. Within the same Bible the spelling alternates between FRY and FREY. There are two entries in the Bible for THE name John Henry:
1. birth 20 June 1845
2. death 10 Oct. 1844
Other surnames in the Bible are SHANK, YEAKLE, WINTERS, HUGHES, EDWARDS, VINCEL,FOX and GRUBB. The earliest births appear in the late 1790's.
FREY, Joshua married 3 Dec. 1822 in New Hanover, Montgomery Co. PA to Miss Anna FOX Providance, Montgomery County PA by Rev. Miller, Lutheran Minister.
The earlist births were children of Paul who was born 5 Feb. 1768 and Elizabeth born 4 July 1770.
In the marriage license index there are only three grooms under FREY
Joseph/Mary M. BEARD 6/29/1826
Jacob/Cath. SHUTZEN 3/19/1835
Enoch/Cath. KLINE 10/27/1842
Under FRY (other entries besides John)
John/Eliz. MILLER 3/25/1802
There are a couple FREY marriages in Frederick county
Daniel and Elizabeth CHRIST Nov. 19, 1793
Nicholas and Catherine SCHMECTER, Aug. 20, 1769
In the will and estate index:
FREY, Jac. estate document 1870
FRY, Peter
estate document & will 1790
FRY, John
Estate document & will 1792
" " 1794
estate document 1838
Most of my resources are probably earlier than the time period you are looking at. Hopefully these will give you an idea of what is there for the surname.
