Lauren, Thank you for The Maryland Militia in the Revolutionary War by S.
Eugene Clements and F. Edward Wright, Heritage Books, 2006. Source as I was
not aware of it or Washington Co.
Thomas Johnson that served.
Will look for the clues on the 1790 census as to possible land records. On
the 1800 census where I can confirm my Thomas Johnson and My Nichol Family
listed between these names is a Peter Peck? And I am unable to find him but
see some Pecks in PA.
Michael Nichol was born in Lancaster, PA. so may be some family connection
there as well. Other surnames names close by Keaser, Orr, Long, House,
Killwell, Baker, Rodes, Snider and James Johnson.
Again I appreciate all the wonderful help offered. Jo Anne

class (private?) in Captain Prather's company of Maryland Militia in
Washington County. [Militia Lists of Daughters of Founders and Patriots -
held by Maryland Historical Society.] The Maryland Militias during this
period were enabled by the second MD Convention which resolved 12 Dec. 1774
that men from 16 to 50 form militia companies. Things didn't really get
organized until 1775 and were reorganized in 1777. This gives you the
presence of a Thomas Johnson in Washington County during the Rev. War
period.
