I have a Julia A.E. Bealer b. 1844 d. 1892 m. Robert Clopper. Both are
buried in the cemetery in Rhorersville, MD. I have it listed that her father
is Samuel , but no wife listed. Wondering if any of the Samuels listed are
her father. Looking below and knowing that there are Huffer's buried in the
same cemetery, my guess would be that her mother may have been Elizabethy
Huffer. Can anyone verify that for me?
Also Robert Clopper's parents are John H. Clopper and Maryan Haynes.
Maryan's mother, Rachel(w/o John J. Haynes) Jones Haynes and brother Thomas
Haynes are also buried in Rhorersville cemetery. Robert Clopper's second
wife was Emma Sue Rauser from Carroll Co., Illinois. Emma's Grandmother was
Maryan's sister Susan Haynes Deitrick. So Robert married his second cousin
once removed.
I have been to and taken many pictures at the Rhorersville Cemetery (am
willing to share these). Also met two Gg-grandsons (Meredith and Richard) of
Thomas Haynes. There is a building there that is the band hall, and
Rhorersville (pop. abt. 483) still has a community band that has been going
for many decades. The main street is three car widths wide and they park on
both sides. Speed limit on Main is 15 MPH. It is a very quaint Maryland
town. Locust Grove is an area about 2-3 miles from Rhorersville where Union
troops encamped on their way to Sharpsburg prior to the battle of Antetium.
Meredith had found many artifacts with metal detector that the soldiers had
left behind.
I may have the whole listing for the Rhorersville Cemetery and am willing to
look up names and dates for interested parties. (email:
