More data posted privately - thought others might want it. - Lauren

Richard,
I would guess she is a daughter who was probably widowed and remarried. Many times the widow is not listed as anything other than widow. If "widow" is listed first then the other person is probably a daughter or other. Getting his will should answer your questions about who all the folks are. I don't think you can always assume the relationships from these extractions. It's good to have them for direction, but you need to look at the will where hopefully all that is spelled out.

I checked St. John's Evangelical Lutheran in Hagerstown (vol 13 of Md Germ. Ch. Rec.)
and there were entries with another spelling variation - Fogelgesang.

On 22 June 1799 Catherine Fogelgesang was sponsor for Catherine Jegly's baptism. Her parents were Jacob & Elis.Jegly.

Marriages include:

Christian Fogelgesang and Susana Arnold, Dec. 30, 1797
Jacob Jegly and Susanna Vogelgesang April 1798
Andrew Charles and Margaret Vogelgesang May 1798 (listed again in June 1798 as Margaret Fogelgesang with the same groom) Even the same minister spells differently in the older records - spelling wasn't so precise then apparently neither were the records (smile).

Lauren
