I posted my first request for information on 15 Dec 2007 and today I found the grave - and got a picture of it too. I may now also have clues for research on her ancestors/siblings.

Thanks to everyone who offered info and suggestions. I learned a lot, made several mistakes, and still have a lot to learn but what fun!

btw, as part of the process I obtained a copy of the original 1942 map locating the 18 graveyards listed in Volume III of the Washington County, Maryland Cemetery Records, Conocccheague Dist.13. I could scan it and the index and send it to anyone interested - or post to this list.

Also, in the introduction to the 1993 version is stated "The County has changed so much in 50 years, that the maps are not a reliable source for location of the graveyards". I think it could be helpful for many - it was for me.
