I don't think so because the book I'm looking at right now (a genealogy of Hoovers from Washington Co.) says "Preacher Stouffer was John Stauffer (d. 1836), since his son Abraham (1782-1857) was not chosen to the ministry until 1839." It goes on to say "It is important to note here that we believe Preacher/Bishop John Stauffer's father was Christian Stauffer who imported in the ship Muscliffe Galley, taking the qualifications December 22, 1744. He had three sons and one daughter Barbara, and resided at Warwick and Donegal Townships, Lancaster County, where he died 1762 intestate."

As I'm not actually researching the Stouffers, I can't help you much more than what is right here. I'm actually interersted in finding where Casper Shertzer is buried, and I believe he was affiliated with these Stouffers and the Ringgold area, which is why I would like to find burial records for that church.

Do you know if the Ringgold Stouffers descended from Abraham Stouffer of Falling Spring, Stouffertown (Chambersburg), PA?
