Frederick County Genealogical Meeting
Saturday, March 8, 2008 begins at 1pm
Homewood at Crumland Farms in their Community Room right off the lobby. They are located on 7407 Willow Rd, Frederick, MD
DIRECTIONS: The first exit after Beckleys motel left off Route 15, approx. 2 miles north of Frederick.
TOPIC: Northern Frederick County Families/History Speaker is Michael Hillman, head of the Emmitsburg Historical Society and the author of many articles detailing the rich history of the Emmitsburg area.
This is the opportunity for anyone searching roots in the northern part of Frederick County to learn about resources for research and to ask questions of a very knowledgeable source.
Northern Frederick County has an interesting history and Emmitsburg Historical Society has collected the history of the area and families.
It is a story of families settling fertile land, of a community pulling together to nurture its own, of churches which faith built, of triumph and sorrow. These are the stories that have been passed down from generation to generation. These are the stories of our community. It is the goal of the Greater Emmitsburg Historical Society to capture these stories and to document them for all time.
