My husband's family descends from Joshua Townsend who married Mary or Molly Smack in 1810 in Worcester Co, MD They moved with their family to Knox Co. Missouri about 1830. John Townsend b. abt 1811 (oldest child of Joshua and Mary) married Elizabeth Morris in Snohill, MD. Nancy C. Smack is listed with the family of Mary E. Townsend in the 1860 Knox Co MO census. Nancy is age 7 at the time of the census. It would appear that there is some connection here. Are any of these names familiar to you?
