Hi Jim,

William James Ellingsworth, Sr. Son of Jacob and Sally

Somewhere I was told that his family was from the area of Wye Mills and Chesapeake Bay in Delaware.

We believe that he remarried after Zepporah died but no confirmation--just hearsay in the family.

Birth: 1824 Someone has him listed as being born 1824, according to the 1850 Census he was 40. Do not know which is correct, I believe 1810 is correct--found it to be true from Census age listings.

According to the 1850 Maryland Census -- William was born in Delaware not Maryland.

1850 Census--Worcester County--Page 268, Berlin Twp., Maryland---William Ellingsworth--40, Zepporah--44, Jacob Henry--18, Eliza E.--14, Dolly E.--10, William James--8, Josephus--5, John L. 3 all born in Maryland except Zepporah's husband he was born in Delaware. Came to Maryland bef. 1832.

On the 1850 New Berlin Maryland Census it states that William Ellingsworth is 40 so that would make his birth year 1810. So that can be the first base he was younger than Zepporah.

Zepporah is listed as being 44years old in 1850 on this census. So her base is 1806, so she would have been 3 years younger than James. This would fit.

If we assume that the youngest age Zepporah and James mother would have given birth we can use your James and minus perhaps 20 years that would make Zepporahs mother being born bef. 1783.

William Evans asssuming he is the same age or younger would put him also sometime before 1783. William Ellingsworth could not have been born on 1819. I will have to point this out to Don Ellingsworth that time from they have wouldn't work. I have based my info off the 1850 Maryland census. Our John was born in 1847 and is the youngest child living.

The years of 13 don't shy me away because their is a 16 year difference between me and my youngest brother and their are six of us in my family and my husband is from a family of 10 and their is a difference of 18 1/2 his mother and sister were pregant at the same time.

Anyway I just wanted you to know that the time frame they have I'm not sure it to be correct.
