Hello Cee Cee,
I saw some of your messages on rootsweb message boards regarding Maddox's in Worcester County. Although I don't think I have info on your John, I wondered if our families might relate? I am looking for a Francis Maddox. I have found info regarding a Lazarus Maddox line, who had a son Francis, and this might be my Francis, but haven't found the proof. If my Francis and Lazarus' son are one and the same, then my Francis may be from Somerset or Worcester Co. He had a son John about 1765, who I descend from, and that's what caught my interest when I saw you looking for a John born about that same time. My trouble is I have records of Francis and John in Onslow County, North Carolina. I think I might be beginning to put the puzzle together, and that Francis and his brothers may have run a shipping/trade business along the coasts of Maryland, VA and NC. Francis has some brothers in Pasquotank Co., NC, which is off the Albemarle Sound. I believe it is one of Francis' sons,!
Lazarus (the 4th) who is living in Worcester Co., even though Francis is in Onslow County at the same time. Is this confusing you? Sorry, if it is. It almost seems as if my Maddox's are from two places.

Did you ever find the Elizabeth Burke and John Maddox marriage info? Did your John stay in Maryland? Would like to compare records. Thanks!
Ora Smith
