Hello David, I have much information on both Benjamin Hamblin and Pierce Dant Hamblen. They were brothers, sons of George and Piercy (Carey) Hamblen. Spellings vary. George and family were living in Charlotte County, VA when the Revolutionary War broke out. Pierce Dant enlisted in the 4th Virginia Regiment of the Continental Line there at Charlotte Court House. It is unlikely that Benjamin remained in MD with the family moving to VA. From VA family moved to NC and then into Whitley County, KY. I have written a book on the Hamblens/Hamblins, Our Hamblen Heritage, with much information about this family and their lines.
