Edward Purnell married Catherine Butler from St Mary's County, Maryland. Edward and Catherine met in Philadephia in the early 1900's. They married around 1902 and lived in St mary's County until their death. Edward, May 1946 and Catherine, May 1966. Edward may have taken Catherine back home to Snow Hill to marry, because I have searched the Philadelphia and St. Mary's County records for their marriage certificate-nothing came up. The 1910, 1920 and 1930 U S Census shows them living in St Mary's County. They had four children: Charles, George, Mary and John.
