Greetings to all.

I am a descendant of John DALE of Oak Hill at the head of the Pokomoke
River and the St Martin's River area, through his son Archibald and
his son John DALE, the "Inspector" (1710-1782).

One of John "Inspector" DALE's sons was Josiah DALE (1736-1795). Of
his children, William DALE (1767-1819), married Sarah GODFREY
1783-1841, daughter of Charles GODFREY, on March 2, 1800. Of their
children, my ancestor is Charles Godfrey DALE (1850 -?), who married
Mary Anne FLEMING (1850-1930), daughter of William FLEMING and Mary
Elizabeth (1820-1904), nee DICKERSON.
(NB: there were more than one person named "Charles Godfrey DALE" or
"Charles G DALE").

Charles GODFREY had died in January or February of 1812 in Worcester
Co. MD, leaving a will as seen in the abstract below.

I need to know:
*Who were the parents of Charles GODFREY?
Could he be related to the Captain Thomas Martin, from whom (as stated
in his will), he had purchased lands?
*What is Charles GODFREY's birth place and date?

Charles GODFREY's wife's name is also not in our family bible records.
She must have predeceased him, dying sometime before the writing of
his will in 1811.

*Who was the wife of Charles GODFREY?

Any help with these would be greatly appreciated. Charles GODFREY is
my 7great-grandfather.

Thanks very much.

Best wishes to everyone,
Liz J
