This helps so much ! Thank you VERY MUCH. I think/am almost sure-that
Jesse B. b. 1820 is my GG grandfather, but of course there's no one around
to actually prove this is true. Only what is on the net, in the libraries,
or what I receive from the great helpers on the boards-who are like Angels.
I can only hope that someday I will be able to repay/help others with the
info I have received.

I would like to know how you came upon this info, where it comes from?? Are
you related?? I have some of this same info from another source. I grew up
not knowing ANYTHING about where my family came from, other than my father
and grandfather FELKER. Nobody talked about the past. I have all the names
I could find from censuses at ancestry.com-ME, NH, VT.

information they contain is not open to the public. The census from 1790
through 1840 only named the head of the household and the numbers of people
in categories - 3 males over 16, 2 males under 16, etc. The census from 1850
through 1920 lists each member of the household and usually gives the
relationship to the head of the house. It also gives age (later years give
birth month and year) and place of birth (usually just the state or foreign
country). The 1890 census was almost totally destroyed by fire so there is a
20 year gap between 1880 and 1900.
