I have in the Civil War records...
Thurmond's Patisan Rangers and Swann's Battalion of VA Cavalry

Remember all these Civil War records are from 1861-1865. When you see
for example 10/2/64, it is Oct. 2, 1864. Some give ages. Example age
being 30. He would have been born in 1834. 30 from 1864.
