Charles,

This particular line was connected to John of Taunton,
which is a completely different line. I would bet, though,
that some of Clement's descendants were in the area as well.

I wonder: has anyone has done any kind of research on the
various Briggs families in Maine and linked them back to one
ancestor or other? A number of cousins who were descended
from John of Taunton settled in the Turner/Auburn/Minot/Greene
area between 1777 and 1797, but I don't think that accounts
for all the Briggs families in the area....
