do most people with osteoporosis get a
dowager's hump?
i am 57 and was recently diagnosed with
it in back and hips. i've been on HRT for 20 yrs. of course, i'm an
ex-smoker, tall (not so lean anymore) and am allergic to
dairy(something other than lactose)which has something to do w/ it. am
on 70mg.
of fosamax once a week, 800 I.U of vit. d and 1500-2000 mg of calcium a
day plus trying to add some soy milk--the chocolate is delicious! ,
weight-bearing exercise, like walking, is supposed to help, also
avoiding caffiene and sodas. my doc says if i do all of the above
that bone can be rebuilt. actually, studies have proven this.
anyone have additional suggestions?
has anyone else experienced a lot of
back pain with osteoporosis??
