Hello listers,

My first post to this fascinating list.

Two of my ancestors, an 8-month-old baby boy and his mother, a 27-year-old woman, died within 2 weeks of each other in 1877, Detroit, MI, and the cause of death is listed as consumption.

Could someone give me a good definition for that?
