Hi Kathy,
From all the research that I have done, there is
little doubt in my mind that the Samuel you mentioned
is the brother of our John Kincaid. They also had a
brother named Reuben, who pretty much spelled his last
name as Kincade. I only have a few records to base my
theory on (no smoking gun so to speak), but if you
look at the timeline for places that these Kincaids
were, (I put a timeline on my website
www.geocities.com/kuria1 ), you can see that they
pretty much moved together. I also believe that the
father of Reuben, Samuel and John was Samuel Kincaid
(Kincade in alot of sources), who was the son of
Napthali Kincaid. Someone from one of my lists sent me
a baptismal record that ties them all together.
If anyone out there has any records of Kincaids from
Newbury, Durham, or Sheepscot, I would greatly
appreciate it,
